Badisches Gasthaus zum Goldenen Löwen in Eppelheim

Thanks to Corona, we really became aware of the lion. Passed it for years but never been there. Shame on my head. Inevitably, we haven't been able to eat on site yet. However, ordering there is absolutely recommended. Never seen such friendly people delivering food. We will of course catch up immediately after Corona! We have already tested a lot of the menu, my absolute favorite dish is the schnitzel with roast jus, my wife's is the pork tenderloin. The meat quality is top and the jus is delicious. We also recommend the rump steak, the burger, the cheese spaetzle and the pepperoni cream. We have already tested everything and found it delicious. The only thing that didn't appeal to us was the garlic baguette, unfortunately it was bland and tough. A small improvement would be not to shrink the french fries with them or pack them in a coated bag, but rather in a simple paper bag so that they stay crispy. Conclusion: more than recommendable. You can feel the love and enjoyment of cooking and work behind it. Ps. Top instagram page;)

We ordered there and went very quickly. Portion size XXL, however, not of satisfactory quality. Käsespätzle way too creamy and weakly seasoned. Salad sauce looked like a ready-made sauce from the bottle.

Ordered our Nikolaus menu today. As a special highlight I treated myself to the goose breast with red cabbage and dumplings. I was absolutely thrilled. Tasted like homemade. Despite the packaging, the skin was still crispy. Dumplings and red cabbage are also very tasty. The other two dishes were delicious too. I can only say great. Price is also very reasonable. Have never been disappointed either. Friendly staff. Keep it up.

Great inn, delicious upscale home-style cuisine. Top kitchen (greetings to the cook). Also very approachable from the outside. Especially in the dark season with the lighting. Gladly again.

Have ordered several starters and main courses and have to say that everything was tasty, everything. The sauce with the peppers is awesome, but there is nothing wrong with the other sauces either. The delivery was very quick and the lady was very friendly too. Will be happy to order there again in the future.

We are a guest in Eppelheim and wanted to have something to eat at 2:45 p.m. - the ladies from the service were all very friendly and courteous. We got drinks and food very quickly ... which were totally delicious. It is beautiful in the beer garden and we felt very comfortable and wonderfully served. The whole team - service and kitchen - a THANK YOU !!!

First time there was food. Very nice restaurant, cozy and clean. The staff was very nice and fun. The selection of drinks and food is large. I would call prices normal. Portion sizes are also perfectly fine. The only annoying thing is finding a parking space but the restaurant can't help it. We will be back definitely!!!!!

Good when looking for German food

My family is visiting Germany from Seattle, WA and we stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. The food was delicious and came out quickly and the wait staff were wonderful. A special thank you to Sarah and Benjamin who helped us and my grandpa.

Quite expensive for a schnitzel but it was good, especially the Bratkartoffeln. Very friendly service.

Nice guest house, centrally located. Nice seating outside, attentive service, great menu. However, for me the price and performance ratio from lunch to dinner menu is not right. The latter I find a tick too expensive. If there was a small side salad with the main courses, I personally would find this more appropriate. Still recommended 🙃

Typical, good running country inn. Very tasty cheese spaetzle, unfortunately eat something strongly salted and small portion too large. Very nice service, on the weekend you should book!

Typical German dishes, but very loud. Prices definitely too high for the quality. Service tried to be helpful. An overall unpleasant experience.

Very tasty traditional German cuisine-although some may find it a bit too salty. I very much recommend this place.

Great steaks wine and beer. Located in a quaint part of suburban Heidelberg, the ambiance and quality of food and drink is very good.
